About the position

As a Case Manager at our fast-growing tax relief firm, you will serve as the direct point of contact and guide for clients during the Resolution Phase of their case. This role involves educating clients on potential courses of action based on their unique circumstances, helping them navigate the complexities of the tax relief process, and collaborating with various departments to address and resolve client concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of tax cases, including audits, appeals, and collections proceedings, while proactively gathering, verifying, and organizing essential financial and tax-related documents.
  • Serve as the main point of contact throughout the resolution process, educating clients on the specific documents needed, answering questions, and ensuring they remain informed and confident about their case.
  • Work closely with tax professionals to review the financial analysis, ensuring the client's documents align with the proposed resolution strategy.
  • Compile and submit accurate documentation that supports each client's case, ensuring all necessary paperwork is complete for resolution phases like Offer in Compromise, Installment Agreements, or other tax relief programs.
  • Document and manage client information using the company's CRM, maintaining detailed and organized records of all interactions and document submissions.
  • Identify areas for improvement in case management processes to increase efficiency and streamline the document gathering and case structuring process.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., tax professionals, client services) to ensure the client's case is progressing smoothly and that all necessary documentation has been accurately submitted.
  • Ensure high-quality client service by maintaining a consistent workflow, providing regular updates, and delivering a seamless client experience.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by direct manager, including special projects or other duties related to case management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of case management experience in the tax relief industry.
  • Exceptional ability to manage and organize large amounts of documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in gathering and submitting client materials.
  • Experience handling sensitive financial and tax-related documents with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to clearly explain complex document requirements to clients, ensuring they understand what is needed for their case.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple cases simultaneously, meeting deadlines for document submissions and case reviews.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain clear, supportive communication throughout the case resolution process.
  • Adept at troubleshooting issues related to missing or incomplete documentation and collaborating with clients and internal teams to find solutions.
  • Willingness to collaborate with other departments to ensure each case moves forward efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently, stay on top of deadlines, and remain motivated to deliver the best outcomes for clients.
  • Comfortable with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and other office tools for managing client files and documentation.
