About the position

The Case Processor position within the Department of the Treasury involves retrieving, analyzing, and processing various reports and documents related to the administration of revenue laws. The role requires expertise in automated systems and involves maintaining tracking systems, preparing case files, and serving as a subject matter expert in records management. This is a temporary position not to exceed one year, with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve reports and technical material from automated systems.
  • Research, analyze, and extract information from various sources.
  • Summarize data for ad hoc report requests.
  • Analyze case information to determine appropriate procedures for case closure.
  • Maintain and update manual and automated tracking systems.
  • Prepare folders, case files, acknowledgments, and closing documents.
  • Organize and dispose of physical and electronic files and records.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for records management issues.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-05 level in the Federal service.
  • Experience using computer programs and administrative procedures.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communications.
  • Experience with office tasks such as filing, photocopying, and document management.
  • Typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute.
