About the position

The Caseworker/PM MCOT position is focused on providing immediate crisis assessment and intervention services for individuals experiencing psychiatric crises. This role is part of a mobile crisis outreach team (MCOT) that aims to deliver mental health support directly in the community, helping to divert individuals from emergency rooms and jails. The position requires collaboration with law enforcement and other agencies to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide face-to-face crisis assessment and intervention services for adults and children in psychiatric crisis.
  • Develop and implement recovery plans for clients in collaboration with other professionals.
  • Coordinate access to medication services and provide short-term monitoring and follow-up care.
  • Educate and support families of clients in crisis situations.
  • Advocate for clients within the community to ensure they receive necessary support services.
  • Participate in on-call crisis response as needed by the agency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Behavioral, Social Science, Humanities, or Education field.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental illness.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills are necessary.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and insurable by agency insurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Credentialing as a Qualified Mental Health Professional.
  • Experience in crisis intervention or mental health support.
