About the position

The Caseworker Supervisor oversees daily case management and counseling activities within the Juvenile Letot Residential Facility. This role ensures that clients receive appropriate services, including medical, mental, social, financial, educational, and housing support, in compliance with relevant laws and standards. The supervisor manages a team of counseling and case management staff, providing guidance, training, and support while also performing casework duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and provides support, orientation, training, and guidance to case management, counseling, and support staff.
  • Coordinates work activities and assigns projects to maintain appropriate staff-to-client ratios.
  • Assists staff in handling special or problem cases to ensure clients receive needed services.
  • Performs casework and/or counseling duties in the absence of staff.
  • Monitors and reviews daily operations to ensure compliance with policies and professional standards.
  • Conducts audits of casework documentation and client records for compliance.
  • Provides consultation to other divisions, departments, agencies, and service providers.
  • Serves as back-up to staff and assumes necessary duties, including administering medications and transporting youths.
  • Compiles statistical data for performance evaluation and generates reports as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • Three years of professional work experience in a specialized area, including one year of supervisory experience.
  • Skilled in the use of standard software applications.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Skilled in individual and group counseling or training.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with a good driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional certification in counseling, social work, criminal justice, psychology, or a related field.
  • Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) for positions in the Substance Abuse Division.
  • Certification in first aid/CPR within six months of hire.
