About the position

The Caseworker position in the Social Services department is responsible for providing essential social work services to individuals, families, and caregivers. The role involves investigating reports of suspected abuse and maltreatment, assisting clients with various difficulties, and making necessary service referrals. The Caseworker will assess risk and safety factors impacting clients and develop plans to address their needs, all under the supervision of higher-level staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide social work services to individuals, families, and caregivers.
  • Investigate reports of suspected abuse and maltreatment.
  • Assist clients with economic, emotional, social, and environmental difficulties.
  • Make necessary service referrals to address identified social problems.
  • Assess risk and safety factors impacting individuals.
  • Formulate and carry out plans to assist individuals in meeting their needs.
  • Conduct in-person interviews and assessments with clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university, or
  • Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse with one year of professional nursing experience.
  • Possession of a valid NYS Driver's License at the time of appointment and throughout employment.
