About the position

The Cash and Revenue Analyst at the University of Texas at Tyler is responsible for managing cash flow and ensuring financial accuracy for both UT Tyler and the UT Tyler Health Science Center. This role involves processing cash transactions, preparing reports, conducting reconciliations, and supporting the cashier's office. The analyst will also engage in ongoing process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency in financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management of cash flow, including detailed analysis of revenue.
  • Process daily reports for cash position and deposits for UTT.
  • Track monthly incentives for UTHET.
  • Process and distribute daily email correspondence with payment notices to UTHSCT contacts.
  • Build and maintain templates for bank wires for UTT and UTHSCT.
  • Serve as cashier backup and cash reporting back for UTHSCT.
  • Process quarterly ABEST reports.
  • Complete analysis of unclaimed property/payments and process yearly State Unclaimed Property report.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly sales reconciliation.
  • Analyze and reclassify payments posted to default accounts for UTT and UTHSCT.
  • Prepare and post monthly journals from the business office.
  • Regularly reconcile UTHSCT bank statements.
  • Release USAS batches accurately and timely.
  • Process AP pay cycle accurately and timely.
  • Complete miscellaneous billings.
  • Perform ad hoc duties and reporting as needed.
  • Assist with ongoing process improvement initiatives, leading projects for streamlining and achieving efficiencies.
  • Provide reports to various stakeholders as requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred.
  • Five (5) years of experience in cashiering, cash collection, reconciliations, bank transactions, or accounting.
  • Experience with ERP systems or financial management software preferred; may accept a combination of education and experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PeopleSoft, nVision, USAS, online banking, UTIMCO CPS, and UTIMCO CRIS.
  • Strong numerical proficiency and organizational skills.
  • Proven technological skills and ability to lead automation initiatives.
