About the position

The Cash Application Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the cash application process, which involves identifying and matching received payments to the appropriate receivables. This position emphasizes attention to detail, quality, and timeliness, requiring effective communication with both internal and external partners. The specialist will navigate various receivable systems and ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory standards while maintaining performance in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assume ownership and respond to customer (internal/external) billing correspondence, complaints, and inquiries efficiently and professionally.
  • Ensure complete resolution of all customer inquiries, coordinating with other business partners as needed.
  • Navigate multiple systems to research, analyze, and resolve customer inquiries.
  • Work effectively in a team environment using professional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Maintain knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance principles and comply with corporate policies and regulatory standards while processing work.
  • Support other teams and process transactions as business priorities change.
  • Complete assignments and other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain performance standards within a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of customer service/financial services experience, preferably in a processing environment.
  • Strong customer service skills including oral and written communication.
  • High School diploma or GED mandatory; associate degree preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Basic knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance principles and company products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Stronger knowledge of Excel preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities within strict time constraints.
  • Demonstrated commitment to team and departmental goals.
