About the position

The Cash Application Specialist at TEKsystems is responsible for managing the cash application process, which involves identifying and matching received payments to corresponding receivables. This role emphasizes attention to detail, quality, and timeliness, requiring effective communication with both internal and external partners. The specialist will navigate multiple systems and processes to resolve customer inquiries and ensure compliance with corporate policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assume ownership and respond to customer internal/external billing correspondence, complaints, and inquiries efficiently and professionally.
  • Coordinate end-to-end service with other business partners to ensure complete resolution of all customer inquiries.
  • Navigate multiple systems and applications to research, analyze, and resolve customer inquiries.
  • Work effectively in a team environment using professional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comply with corporate policies, regulatory standards, and internal business processes while processing work.
  • Support other teams and process transactions as business priorities change.
  • Complete assignments and other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain performance standards within a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 2 years of customer service/financial services experience, preferably in a processing environment.
  • Strong customer service skills, including oral and written communication.
  • High School diploma or GED is mandatory; an associate degree is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance principles and company products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic knowledge of Excel for data entry; stronger knowledge of Excel is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Outlook and ability to construct emails and manage multiple mailboxes.
