About the position
The Cash Application Specialist position is an entry-level role within the Accounts Receivable team of a major food retailer. The role focuses on processing and reconciling account receivables, reviewing payments, and addressing payment discrepancies. The candidate will gain exposure to various facets of the accounting process and will report to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile account receivables and remittances
- Review payments and apply them to the correct customer account
- Create regular reports to accurately track financial information
- Address payment issues like double payments or other discrepancies
- Engage in collection management processes as necessary
- Assist department with other AR related work including credit/collections as needed
- Manipulate data using excel
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance
- Highly organized and able to multitask
- Able to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Excel
