About the position
The Cash Applications Specialist at Eastern Quality Foods is responsible for managing the accounts receivable process, focusing on collection differences and customer payment behaviors. This role ensures timely receipt of payments, resolves discrepancies, and supports cash flow management by maintaining accurate customer account records and effective collection strategies. The position requires collaboration with internal teams and customers to address payment issues and improve collection processes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the receipt and proper application of customer payments through various methods.
- Reconcile daily incoming cash deposits with the bank statement and conduct regular reconciliations of customer accounts.
- Communicate payment discrepancies with the corresponding sales office and collaborate to resolve disputes.
- Monitor overdue accounts and initiate follow-up communications with customers regarding late payments.
- Analyze customer payment trends to identify patterns and potential credit risks.
- Prepare detailed reports on accounts receivable status, including aging reports and collection efforts.
- Collaborate with sales to resolve payment disputes and manage credit terms.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounts receivable and collection processes.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable principles and collection processes.
- Experience tracking and analyzing customer payment behaviors.
- Proficiency in accounting software, preferably SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports.
