About the position

The Cash Ops Analyst position at CBRE involves providing essential support functions for Portfolio Managers in the management of various portfolios of commercial real estate loans. This role is critical in ensuring that the servicing of these loans is conducted efficiently and effectively. The analyst will be responsible for conducting thorough research and financial analysis of properties, loans, and portfolios, which is vital for informed decision-making and maintaining the integrity of the loan servicing process. In this role, the analyst will perform basic customer service functions, which include responding to borrower inquiries via email and telephone regarding their commercial mortgages. This requires not only a strong understanding of the loan products but also the ability to research information to provide accurate answers. The analyst will monitor delinquency reports and proactively contact borrowers to ascertain the status of loan payments, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly. Additionally, the analyst will be tasked with monitoring suspense reports and researching loan records to determine the appropriate posting of received funds. This involves direct communication with borrowers to clarify the reasons for sending in funds. The role also includes following up with borrowers on the status of required repairs and reporting these results to Portfolio Managers and lender clients. Collecting necessary operating statements, rent rolls, and other financial reports from borrowers is another key responsibility. The analyst will update both internal loan servicing systems and external lender client systems with the status of various lender consent items, ensuring that all records are accurate and up-to-date. Furthermore, the analyst will assist Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Analysts in their day-to-day functions, providing support as needed to facilitate smooth operations within the portfolio management team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic customer service functions by answering borrower questions via email and telephone about their commercial mortgages.
  • Monitor delinquency reports and contact borrowers for status on loan payments.
  • Monitor suspense reports and research loan records to identify where funds received should be posted, contacting borrowers for reasons for sending in funds.
  • Follow up with borrowers on the status of required repairs and report results to Portfolio Managers and lender clients.
  • Contact borrowers to collect required operating statements, rent rolls, and other financial reports.
  • Update internal loan servicing system and external lender client systems with the status of various lender consent items.
  • Assist Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Analysts in the day-to-day functions of Portfolio Management as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required with 0 - 2 years related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.
  • Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
  • Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations.
  • Ability to solve problems in standard situations.
  • Requires basic analytical skills.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
