About the position

The Cash Receipting Manager at The Nature Conservancy is responsible for overseeing the receipting, administration, and documentation of financial transactions, including checks, wires, and ACHs, amounting to $800M-$1.2B. This hybrid role requires the manager to work approximately three days a week in the Arlington office, particularly during busy seasons. The position involves managing a small team, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and collaborating with other financial managers to ensure timely deposits and accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the secure handling and recording of cash, checks, wires, ACH, and bank adjustments into the organization's financial systems.
  • Provide excellent customer service to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Collaborate with banks to ensure smooth processing of transactions and resolve any deposit-related issues.
  • Onboard, train, and conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Implement and manage new initiatives and multiple projects.
  • Report to leadership on activities and decisions that may bind the organization financially and legally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration and 5 years' related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience with accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Experience recruiting, supervising, and developing staff.
  • Technical expertise on complex accounting/financial issues.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Blackbaud CRM, Workday, or Agresso Business World (ABW).
  • Knowledge of dealing with fundraising systems and data.
  • Expert knowledge of GAAP and/or relevant regulatory framework.
  • Multi-lingual skills and/or multi-cultural experience appreciated.
