About the position

The Cash Receivable Technician (Accounting Technician, Senior) at Oregon Health & Science University is responsible for the accurate and timely posting of electronic remittances and checks from insurance companies. This role involves managing daily wire payments, reconciling accounts, and ensuring all necessary documentation is complete for decision-making. The technician will also handle inquiries related to cash handling and payments, making independent judgments to ensure accuracy in financial transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately post ERA and mail/checks from insurance companies.
  • Receive daily wire payments from the bank and reconcile with EPIC.
  • Print reports in EPIC for account reconciliation and ensure all payments are posted.
  • Research and resolve posting errors by manual entry.
  • Analyze accounts for complex payments and take backs.
  • Contact insurance/third parties or patients for necessary information.
  • Perform complex data entry and maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor EPIC clearing accounts and ensure timely entries.
  • Make deposits to the bank and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Respond to inquiries about cash handling, payments, and deposits.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
