About the position

At Proof Liquor and Deli, we are looking for a motivated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. This part-time role involves being the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while efficiently handling transactions. The ideal candidate will communicate effectively and maintain a positive attitude to ensure a welcoming shopping experience for all patrons.

Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Provide outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering assistance as needed.
• Utilize phone etiquette to handle incoming calls professionally and assist customers with their needs.
• Perform basic math calculations to ensure accurate pricing and change handling.
• Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area while ensuring all merchandise is properly displayed.
• Collaborate with team members to meet store goals and provide a seamless shopping experience.
• Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including those related to cash handling and inventory management.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• TABC and Food Handlers certification required.
• 1 year of experience in liquor sales preferred.
• Proficient in operating cash registers and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
• Familiarity with retail math concepts for accurate transaction processing.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately.

Nice-to-haves

• General knowledge in the liquor, beer, and wine industry preferred.
• Experience in a retail store environment is preferred but not required.
