About the position

The Cashier position at Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona involves providing excellent customer service, managing point of sale transactions, and maintaining the sales floor. The role is essential in promoting sales and ensuring a positive brand experience for customers. Cashiers are responsible for processing payments, greeting customers, and maintaining a clean and safe environment while embodying Goodwill's core values.

Responsibilities

• Perform Point of Sale (POS) responsibilities and process all forms of payments.
• Ask each customer for cash donations at POS.
• Establish or identify prices of goods via the type of merchandise or by asking for help from an on-site leader.
• Complete closing procedures as necessary.
• Maintain regular and consistent in-person attendance.
• Greet customers entering the store and thank customers leaving the establishment.
• Maintain sales floor by following floorwork and PPM (picture process map) standards.
• Stock merchandise in the appropriate area as assigned.
• Utilize systems, including phones and paging systems to make regularly scheduled announcements.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Model Goodwill Core Values - Trust, Collaboration, Engagement, Ownership, and Innovation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School education or equivalent experience.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent math skills preferred.
• Ability to communicate and understand instructions, both verbal and written, in English.
• Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
