About the position

The Cashier is responsible for accurately handling financial transactions within the restaurant, ensuring prompt and courteous service to all guests. This role involves cash management, reconciliation of transactions, and maintaining financial records, while also potentially serving as the Cafe Receptionist as determined by management.

Responsibilities

  • Count, document, and prepare all received monies for deposit.
  • Cash out servers, bartenders, and retail sales associates.
  • Reconcile daily credit card transactions.
  • Make daily deposits and maintain the bank manifest.
  • Create and maintain the armored car log.
  • Process "party" deposits.
  • Manage petty cash and maintain the petty cash log, ensuring requests are approved before disbursement.
  • Reconcile vouchers and build daily cash bags.
  • Assist with chargebacks and perform change runs.
  • Balance the safe three times per day.
  • Cash out Box Office, Live, and Banquet employees if applicable.
  • Handle "paid ins" and "paid outs" for employees.
  • Notify management of overages or shortages.
  • Process manual hotel charges if applicable.
  • Handle direct bill payments.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 19 years old.
  • Previous cash handling experience in a high volume establishment.
  • Ability to problem solve and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Practice safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and lift up to 25 lb cash bags.
  • Positive attitude toward staff.
