About the position

As a Cashier I Inside Sales at Builders FirstSource, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth transactions at our store. Under direct supervision, you will greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases, ensuring they have a positive shopping experience. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving payments, issuing receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers, and packaging customer purchases efficiently. You will be the first point of contact for customers, and your ability to provide product information, location guidance, and general store knowledge will be essential in directing customers to the right products and services. In addition to customer interaction, you will be responsible for opening and closing the cash register, accurately documenting all transactions, making precise change, and verifying credit cards and checks. Balancing receipts at the end of your shift will be a critical task to ensure financial accuracy. You will also assist in pricing and stocking inventory, preparing and maintaining displays, and ensuring the store presentation meets our quality standards. Participation in annual physical inventory activities will also be part of your role, contributing to the overall efficiency and organization of the store. This position requires a proactive approach to customer service and a keen attention to detail in handling transactions and maintaining store standards. You will work closely with your team to create a welcoming environment for our customers, ensuring they receive the best service possible.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and receive payment for purchases.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Six (6) months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
