About the position
The Cashier at Goodwill Industries of South Central Wisconsin plays a crucial role in maximizing store profitability through accurate register operation, exceptional customer service, and efficient merchandising. This position is integral to building skills and changing lives within the community.
Responsibilities
- Provide best in class service by greeting customers, answering questions and inviting them to return
- Process transactions accurately, professionally, and efficiently
- Actively promote the Round-Up program, informing customers how their contributions help the community
- Keep the sales floor fresh and full by merchandising and salvaging items
- Continuously pick up items, return shopping carts/baskets, and place merchandise in appropriate areas
- Maintain a neat, clean, and safe environment by following established 5S principles and safety guidelines
- Monitor the fitting rooms, returning items to the floor and reporting known theft to the Manager or AP Agent
- Interact consistently with co-workers, shoppers, and donors in a professional and pleasant manner
- Assist Asset Protection Agents, if 18 or older, may be asked to act as a witness for shoplifting detentions
- Support production, rotation, and 1 touch optimization processes
- Perform all duties within the framework of the organization's Core Values
Requirements
- Ability to ring sales on a cash register and use basic math to count money
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
