About the position

The Cashier position at Cosentino's Price Chopper is a part-time role focused on providing excellent customer service by efficiently processing sales transactions. The cashier is responsible for handling various payment methods, ensuring a clean and professional front end, and resolving customer complaints while adhering to company policies and health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in their shopping experience by processing sales transactions efficiently and courteously.
• Accurately receive and process payments for purchases using cash, checks, gift cards, credit and debit cards, and coupons.
• Follow procedures for processing payments involving government assistance programs.
• Issue customer receipts and change accurately.
• Identify products using PLUs, scales, or produce numbers.
• Operate electronic cash registers, scanners, and check verification equipment.
• Utilize proper bagging techniques to minimize product damage and reduce shrink.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the front end for customers.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and involve management when necessary.
• Implement Cosentino Customer Service Standards and comply with health regulations and safety procedures.
• Answer customer questions accurately regarding store items, procedures, and policies.
• Train new cashiers as directed by management and promote sales by suggesting additional products.

Requirements

• A valid liquor license must be obtained prior to the first day on the job (if applicable).
• Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino's Learning Plan.
• Basic math and reading skills required for the position.
