About the position

Join our dynamic team at Handy Mart as a Cashier/Sales Associate, where you'll be the heartbeat of our store, ensuring customers have a pleasant shopping experience. This part-time role involves providing excellent customer service, maintaining store cleanliness, and managing cash transactions, all while contributing to a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Be the friendly face that greets customers and offers assistance.
• Keep shelves stocked, displays appealing, and the store clean.
• Master upselling and suggestive selling to enhance customer experience.
• Encourage customers to join our loyalty rewards program.
• Efficiently manage the cash register and handle transactions accurately.
• Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, including restrooms and outdoor spaces.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older in specified states, or 21 years or older in others.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Effective communication skills in English.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Physical ability to frequently lift 10 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Personable and positive demeanor with a knack for customer service.
• Detail-oriented and reliable with a strong work ethic.
• Flexible and adaptable to various tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous experience in retail or customer service is appreciated, but not required.
