About the position

The Overnight Sales Associate position is designed for individuals who thrive in a night-time work environment and are passionate about providing exceptional customer service. As a key member of the 3rd shift team, you will engage with customers, handle transactions, and maintain store operations during overnight hours. This role offers opportunities for growth and a flexible schedule, making it ideal for those looking to balance work with other commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly as they enter the store and provide fast and efficient service.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately using an electronic cash register, including managing refunds and exchanges.
  • Count money at the beginning and end of each shift as part of the shift change process.
  • Process specialty products such as money orders, credit card purchases, checks, and lottery sales.
  • Check identifications to enforce age restrictions for restricted sales.
  • Keep shelves stocked and ready for customers, including food service supplies and merchandise.
  • Sanitize equipment and areas to maintain a clean environment following proper cleaning procedures.
  • Regularly clean and empty trash containers to keep the premises tidy.
  • Check in vendor deliveries and ensure proper stock rotation and front-facing of merchandise.
  • Complete bad merchandise forms to address operational challenges.
  • Adapt to various duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet store needs.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older in specified states, or 21 years of age or older in others.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays is required.
  • Effective communication skills in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
  • Physical ability to frequently lift 10 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Personable and positive attitude with a friendly demeanor.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on customer experience.
  • Reliable and responsible with punctuality and trustworthiness.
  • Flexible and adaptable to various tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Previous experience in retail or customer service is appreciated but not required.
