This position is seasonal and part-time, with the potential for transitioning into a permanent role based on performance and business needs. Responsibilities
- Receive and disburse money in establishments other than financial institutions.
- Use electronic scanners, cash registers, or related equipment to process transactions.
- Process credit or debit card transactions and validate checks.
- Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
- Assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints.
- Establish or identify prices of goods, services or admission, and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers, or optical price scanners.
- Greet customers entering establishments.
- Receive, store, and issue sales floor merchandise.
- Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with merchandise and arrange merchandise displays to attract customers.
- Take physical count of stock or check and mark merchandise periodically.
- Answer customers' questions about merchandise and advise customers on merchandise selection.
- Stamp, attach, or change price tags on merchandise, referring to price list.
- Compare merchandise invoices to items actually received to ensure that shipments are correct.
- Itemize and total customer merchandise selection at checkout counter, using cash register, and accept cash or charge card for purchases.
