About the position
The Cashier/Stocker position at Hansen IGA involves providing excellent customer service while managing transactions at the register and maintaining the store's appearance. The role requires multitasking in a fast-paced environment, handling customer inquiries, and ensuring the store is stocked and clean.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service by being friendly, courteous, and greeting customers.
- Help customers find merchandise and answer their questions.
- Accurately total customers' merchandise at checkout and complete transactions using a cash register.
- Follow procedures regarding the sale of alcohol and cigarettes.
- Handle grocery items properly and use correct methods of bagging.
- Handle customer concerns and complaints.
- Stock and face shelves when needed.
- Clean counter and register area as needed, including sweeping, dusting, and cleaning belts/lane.
- Complete any additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must be accurate and detail-oriented.
- Able to lift 20 pounds regularly and 30 pounds occasionally.
- Positive, friendly, and team-oriented attitude.
- Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for the extent of a shift.
