Responsibilities

• Engages with customers and provides efficient checkout services.
• Ensures correct checkout totals by weighing, keying, and scanning items accurately.
• Maintains accurate money count in the register at all times.
• Accesses or memorizes product codes and remains familiar with ad and special items.
• Remains current on tender policies and procedures related to various payment methods.
• Maintains a friendly and customer-service-oriented attitude by greeting customers and answering questions.
• Promotes enrollment in the Thank You Card program and assists customers with the sign-up process.
• Ensures groceries are bagged properly to prevent cross-contamination and ensure customer receipt of all items.
• Maintains cleanliness and presentation of front-end racks, drink coolers, and cleaning supply stations.
• Adheres to company safety procedures and maintains a clean working environment.
• Complies with all local, state, and federal laws regarding sales of restricted items.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of cash register operations.
• Basic knowledge of tender policies and procedures.
• Basic mathematical and counting skills.
• Ability to learn new technology systems, methods, and processes.
