Responsibilities

• Engages with customers and provides efficient checkout services.
• Bags and transports groceries while ensuring proper handling of items.
• Locates products and conducts price verifications.
• Maintains proficiency regarding transactions and accuracy of tender.
• Ensures correct checkout totals by properly weighing, keying, and scanning items.
• Maintains accurate money count in register at all times.
• Accesses or memorizes product codes and remains familiar with ad and special items.
• Remains current on tender policies and procedures related to various payment methods.
• Maintains a friendly and customer-service-oriented attitude by greeting customers and responding to inquiries.
• Promotes enrollment in the Thank You Card program and assists customers with sign-up process.
• Ensures groceries are bagged properly to prevent cross-contamination and ensure customer receipt of all items.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of front-end racks, drink coolers, and cleaning supply stations.
• Adheres to safety procedures and complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Accountable for adhering to local, state, and federal laws regarding sales of restricted items.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of cash register operations.
• Basic knowledge of tender policies and procedures.
• Basic mathematical and counting skills.
• Ability to learn new technology systems, methods, and processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and partners in written and verbal form.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
