About the position

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our retail team at American Eagle Outfitters. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions. As a Cashier, you will play a vital role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers, handling cash and credit transactions, and maintaining the overall organization of the checkout area.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases.
• Operate cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems to process transactions efficiently.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with accuracy.
• Enroll new customers in RealRewards Program and RealRewards Credit Program.
• Maintain knowledge of current promotions and product offerings to provide informed assistance to customers.
• Assist in stocking shelves and organizing merchandise as needed.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance customer engagement and sales.
• Supervise junior staff members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues that may arise during the checkout process.

Requirements

• Bilingual skills are a plus to assist a diverse customer base.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
• Previous experience in retail sales or cashier roles is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Willingness to assist with stocking duties as needed.
