About the position

The Cashier at HMSHost is responsible for completing sales transactions and supporting various functions within the establishment. This role involves operating a cash register, maintaining cleanliness in the work area, and assisting with stocking activities. The Cashier plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to cash handling policies.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a cash register and receive payments from customers in cash or credit card.
  • Accurately count and provide change to customers as required.
  • Follow all HMSHost customer service and cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a solid knowledge of products and services available in the unit.
  • Clean and stock the work area.
  • Assist in locating, reconciling, and verifying the accuracy of transactions.
  • Operate equipment with peripheral electronic data processing.

Requirements

  • Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
  • Ability to lift/push objects weighing over 10 lbs.
  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents.
