Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers actively.
• Process customer transactions quickly and accurately through the check lane.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system effectively.
• Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, and SNAP EBT.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions or issues.
• Practice preventive maintenance on equipment and report any repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product-related questions.
• Stay informed about current, seasonal, and special ads.

Requirements

• Customer service experience is required.
• Ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
• Strong communication skills are necessary.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction) is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred.
