About the position

Wilcox + Flegel is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Cashier to join their Rush Road Flyways team. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service and maintaining a positive shopping environment. Cashiers will engage with customers, handle transactions, and contribute to the overall mission of creating lasting partnerships with customers and communities.

Responsibilities

• Rings up customer purchases and receives payments for products sold.
• Issues receipts to customers for products bought; makes necessary refunds, credits, or change to customers.
• Provides assistance to customers by making available information on products and their benefits.
• Maintains appropriate interpersonal relationships with the public, especially customers and co-workers.
• Addresses customer concerns.
• Keeps records of transaction totals and maintains confidentiality of company sales and records.
• Accurately completes shift reports, temperature check reports, etc.
• Accurately verifies cash drawer count at the start of every shift.
• Greets customers as they enter and leave the store.
• Ensures that the checkout area is always clean and in order.
• Stocks shelves in the store and includes price tags on each item on the shelf.
• Operates car wash (if applicable).
• Empties trash cans using required safety equipment.
• Properly cleans and sanitizes restrooms.
• Monitors the entire lot for trash.
• Provides on-the-job training when asked.
• Computes every transaction.
• Completes any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong ability to multi-task.
• Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to a changing environment; agile, flexible, and resilient.
• Good customer service skills.
• Basic math skills: fair knowledge of basic calculations.
• Self-motivated with the ability to follow directions.
• Ability to get tasks done with little or no supervision.
• Ability to operate cash register and work with numbers.
• Ability to pay attention to details.

Nice-to-haves

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous work experience as a store clerk is strongly desired.
