About the position

The Casino Ops Assistant Shift Manager at Horseshoe Tunica is responsible for overseeing Table Games and Slot Operations during designated shifts in the absence of the Shift Manager. This role supports the Shift Manager in ensuring successful casino operations, driving operational efficiencies, enhancing service scores, and improving employee morale. The position requires strong leadership, creativity, and meticulous execution to foster a proactive operational structure and maintain high levels of guest and employee service.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Table Games and Slot Operations on designated shifts in the absence of the Shift Manager.
  • Support the Shift Manager in ensuring successful casino operations.
  • Drive change and operational consistency within the department.
  • Build relationships with customers and hold staff accountable for service excellence.
  • Develop and solicit new ideas from the team to enhance customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with property courtesy guidelines with guests and employees.
  • Manage game spreads, table limits, shift and break lists, and floor assignments.
  • Develop and mentor teams, establishing clear expectations and communicating goals.
  • Complete disciplinary and performance reviews accurately and on time.
  • Bridge barriers and build teamwork within the department and with other departments.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance customer service.
  • Keep the Shift Manager informed about departmental activities.
  • Execute projects to address departmental shortfalls and garner support across all employee levels.
  • Monitor and control expenses to stay within budgetary guidelines.
  • Create a fun-filled and exciting environment for guests and employees.
  • Act as a role model and coach while developing employees.
  • Provide recognition and rewards for superior performance.
  • Assess policies and procedures to improve department operations.
  • Resolve conflicts and demonstrate leadership skills to inspire the team.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of all casino games, operations, and casino management.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.
  • Ability to solve practical problems in various situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in different forms.
  • Ability to obtain appropriate work authorization per gaming regulations.
  • Ability to work in a drug-free environment and pass a chemical dependency test.
