About the position

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Cassandra-based databases tailored to meet application and business needs.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to design and implement efficient data models that follow Cassandra's principles and best practices.
  • Continuously monitor, analyze, and improve the performance of Cassandra databases to meet required service levels.
  • Manage Cassandra clusters, ensuring they are healthy, resilient, and backed up, and handle troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Develop and utilize automation tools and scripts to streamline database operations and maintenance.
  • Plan and execute data migration, including schema upgrades, from legacy systems to Cassandra, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
  • Create detailed documentation for Cassandra architecture, schema designs, and operational procedures.
  • Establish and enforce best practices in data management and storage.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to integrate Cassandra databases seamlessly with applications and services.
  • Implement data security and compliance measures in Cassandra environments, protecting sensitive information and meeting regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Experience in database design and development, specifically with Cassandra.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles and best practices for Cassandra.
  • Proven experience in performance tuning and optimization of databases.
  • Experience in managing Cassandra clusters and troubleshooting issues.
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting for database operations.
