About the position

The Logistic Manager at Cassity Jones Building Materials is responsible for overseeing the logistics and warehouse operations of the lumberyard. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage logistics, transportation, and warehouse activities effectively. The Logistic Manager will optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure timely delivery of lumber products to customers.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and optimize transportation routes for timely delivery of lumber products.
• Manage a fleet of drivers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and efficient resource utilization.
• Work closely with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to streamline logistics operations.
• Oversee day-to-day warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and shipping lumber products.
• Implement and enforce best practices for inventory management, ensuring accurate stock control.
• Collaborate with the warehouse team to maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of drivers and warehouse staff.
• Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of logistics and warehouse teams.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work culture, promoting teamwork and accountability.
• Generate and analyze reports related to logistics and warehouse performance.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and warehouse activities.
• Provide regular updates and insights to the Operations Manager and General Manager.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders in the supply chain.
• Negotiate and review contracts, ensuring favorable terms for the lumberyard.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics, transportation, and warehouse management, preferably in the lumber or construction industry.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage and inspire a diverse team.
• In-depth knowledge of logistics and warehouse processes, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient in using logistics and inventory management software.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
