About the position

The Castrol Americas Technology Deployment Senior Manager plays a pivotal role in representing technology within the Americas Performance Unit Leadership team across various product areas, including Automotive and Industrial. This position is responsible for providing technical leadership and developing a technology strategy that aligns with the growth ambitions of the Performance Unit. The Senior Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Americas Technology Centre, ensuring compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental standards while driving technology deployment and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Applied Science Advanced Lubricants Products on the Castrol Americas Leadership Team and provide local senior leadership for the Americas Technology Centre.
  • Develop a technology strategy and maintain a product portfolio for Americas that aligns with Castrol business strategies.
  • Manage technical resources effectively to improve technology delivery and customer service.
  • Deploy compliant and efficient automotive formulations to enable high-impact product launches.
  • Provide effective technical support and advocacy, resolving customer/product issues and managing quality incidents.
  • Develop and implement communications and training on new products and technologies.
  • Optimize formulation costs and improve the product portfolio.
  • Ensure technical integrity of product claims and manage conflicts between tactical business needs and global technology relationships.
  • Build capability and develop a strong team of technologists.
  • Drive continuous improvement in technology efficiency through digital tools and data management.
  • Identify and drive new opportunities in core and new business spaces for Castrol.
  • Function as the external face of Castrol Technology with customers and industry bodies.
  • Drive local sourcing opportunities that improve cost of goods sold and progress sustainability targets.

Requirements

  • Masters, PhD, or Honours in Scientific or Engineering discipline.
  • Extensive experience in Technology leadership, preferably in lubricants, fuels, automotive, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Experience in supporting multiple technical and complex businesses.
  • Significant experience working with functions outside of technology and managing senior collaborators.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading global teams and encouraging diverse cultures.
