About the position

The Baseball Camp Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the operations of the baseball camp at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. This part-time temporary position involves managing camp employee hires, directing registration and communication, marketing the camp, and ensuring compliance with university policies and NCAA regulations. The role requires collaboration with various departments and maintaining a safe instructional environment for participants.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee camp employee hires including athletic trainer and ensure all campers are paid accordingly.
  • Provide direction to registration, refunds, and communication with Athletic staff/programs and parents/guardians.
  • Act as a liaison to ARMS contacts, Compliance, Facilities, Athletic Training, Business Office, Marketing, Human Resources, and other involved entities.
  • Responsible for marketing and promotion of the camp.
  • Create and manage the camp budget.
  • Purchase merchandise/supplies in accordance with University purchasing policies.
  • Instruct participants in baseball techniques and drills according to the UH Baseball Coaching staff's philosophies.
  • Foster a safe and productive instructional environment for all participants.
  • Maintain collaborative working relationships with administrators and coaches in the department and other university offices.
  • Comply with laws, policies, rules, and regulations governing the University of Hawaii and NCAA rules, advising the Director of Athletics of any potential violations.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Baseball playing experience at the high school or collegiate level or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to teach baseball skills and techniques in accordance with the UH Baseball coaching philosophy.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
