About the position

The Casual Hire - Graphic Designer position at the University of Hawaii involves executing design and production tasks for College marketing materials. This role supports various design projects and assists in managing the Shidler brand across all marketing outputs. The position is temporary, lasting up to 89 days for full-time employees, and is focused on contributing to the visual identity and marketing efforts of the Shidler College of Business.

Responsibilities

• Execute the design and production of College marketing materials
• Assist with various design projects
• Assist the events and alumni managers to produce invitations, programs, etc.
• Assist in the management of the Shidler brand across all marketing materials
• Design and layout of the Shidler Business magazine
• Produce web graphics and assist Webmaster when needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, fine arts, or graphic arts
• Two progressive years of experience in printing and electronic communications
• Working experience of graphics and layout software such as Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office
• Knowledge of HTML
• Knowledge of the printing process with the ability to prepare design to print specifications
• Ability to develop online content in ADA requirement
• Experience in developing marketing materials and designing magazines

Nice-to-haves

• 5 years or more with relevant experience, preferably working in a higher education setting
• 5 or more years developing layout and design for publications such as magazines
• 5 or more years of experience with logo and branding design
