Your role is crucial in contributing to the overall sales and environment of the store through positive interactions with customers and fellow Team Members. You will create an exceptional in-store experience and provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers and assisting them in their creative projects. In your daily duties, you will greet every JOANN customer and utilize the F.A.S.T. service model to meet their needs. This includes asking open-ended questions to understand their project requirements and guiding them to the appropriate products. You will engage in friendly conversations about their projects while serving them at the cutting counter, cash register, and throughout the sales floor. You will also be responsible for processing customer transactions efficiently and with professionalism, ensuring a positive experience at every touchpoint. Your responsibilities will extend to maintaining high standards throughout the sales floor by cleaning and recovering shelves, managing returns, and addressing any spills or messes promptly. You will invite customers to participate in store activities such as Education Classes and Custom Framing, proactively driving sales through product knowledge and building strong customer relationships. Additionally, you will work to minimize shrink in the store by adhering to proper policies and procedures, including maintaining cutting counter accuracy and effective inventory management. As a Team Member, you will assist other Team Members with tasks to ensure that the team exceeds expectations set by Store Management. You will collaborate with Store Management and other Team Members on various projects in a friendly and professional manner, and you may also assist in training new Team Members on essential tasks such as running the register, cutting fabric, stocking shelves, and providing excellent customer service. Please note that applicable laws may place restrictions on certain work duties, and you should consult your manager if you have any questions regarding these limitations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet every JOANN customer and utilize the F.A.S.T. service model to meet their needs.
  • Ask open-ended questions to learn about customers' project needs and escort them to the desired product's location.
  • Engage in friendly conversation with customers about their projects while serving them at the cutting counter, cash register, and sales floor.
  • Process customer transactions at the cutting counter and cash register efficiently and professionally.
  • Lift boxes from the truck and receiving area, place, and arrange items on shelves and racks.
  • Unload freight from the truck and sort it according to company procedures.
  • Move product from delivering truck to sales floor as needed.
  • Stock shelves accurately according to planogram while maintaining high productivity and attention to detail.
  • Maintain high standards throughout the sales floor by cleaning and recovering shelves, managing returns, and cleaning up spills/messes.
  • Invite customers to participate in store activities such as Education Classes and Custom Framing.
  • Proactively drive sales through product knowledge, suggestive selling, and innovative merchandising.
  • Work to minimize shrink in the store by following proper policies and procedures.
  • Assist other Team Members with tasks to ensure the team exceeds expectations set by Store Management.
  • Collaborate with Store Management and other Team Members on projects in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist with training new Team Members on running the register, cutting fabric, stocking shelves, and customer service.

Requirements

  • No minimum education requirement.
  • Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • No experience required.
  • Preferred: 1-3 years previous experience in a customer-centric environment.
