About the position

The Cybersecurity Analyst will provide engineering and cybersecurity support services for the Transportation Security Equipment (TSE) development and technical reviews. This role involves acting as a subject matter expert (SME) for cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with best practices and federal guidelines, and making recommendations to enhance the security posture of systems within the TSA's Checkpoint Technologies Division.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering and cybersecurity support services for TSE development and technical reviews.
  • Act as a cybersecurity subject matter expert (SME) for vendor coordination of Checkpoint Technologies Authorization to Operate (ATO).
  • Make recommendations to improve technical designs and equipment implementations for robust security.
  • Support the acquisition and development of emerging technologies and transportation security equipment.
  • Develop and document technical requirements and strategies for Checkpoint related equipment and systems.
  • Provide SME support for developing cybersecurity-related input for RFIs, SOWs, SOOs, PWSs, and IGCEs.
  • Conduct technical reviews of Developmental Engineering Proposals, Engineering Change Proposals, and participate in TSA's Configuration Control Board process.
  • Review technical deliverables and develop technical specifications and requirements management documents.
  • Attend and document minutes at CAT meetings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Cybersecurity SME (10 years preferred).
  • CISSM certification required (CISSP preferred).
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Ability to travel for cybersecurity assessments and meetings as required.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • SME level experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and obtaining ATOs for complex systems.
  • Systems engineering or technical expertise to support acquisition and development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification.
  • Experience providing cybersecurity SME support at TSA or other DHS entities.
  • Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall software development processes.
