About the position

The Cataract Concierge Educator at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and education regarding cataract surgery options, specifically focusing on Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) Intraocular Lens (IOL). This full-time position involves generating new leads, answering patient inquiries, scheduling consultations, and discussing innovative technologies and procedures. The role requires collaboration with clinical teams and maintaining professional relationships with referring doctors, all while ensuring a high level of service to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new leads and answer patient questions about intraocular lens options.
  • Schedule consultation appointments and conduct patient consultations via Zoom or in-office.
  • Explain the LAL process to help patients realize their lifestyle goals.
  • Discuss benefits and costs of non-covered services with patients and secure out-of-pocket financial requirements.
  • Counsel patients on financing options with CareCredit and provide necessary paperwork to Billing and Finance Departments.
  • Work closely with MD clinical teams and Optometry administrative staff to ensure concierge service to LAL patients.
  • Make confirmation and reminder calls, and follow-up calls from patient consultations.
  • Assist with preparation for and attend LAL seminars and events as required.
  • Track conversion rates on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain professional relationships with referring and co-managing doctor's offices.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • High degree of Customer Service training and professionalism.
  • Well organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and accurately.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with doctors and clinic staff.
  • Ability to remain personable and empathetic with patients' needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients.
  • Ability to follow established protocols.
  • Proficient in word processing, Excel spreadsheets, and computer skills.
