In this role, you will be responsible for investigating and maintaining property and casualty claims. Your primary duties will include determining liability, securing necessary information, reviewing coverages, arranging appraisals, and ultimately settling claims. The compensation for this position ranges from $55,000.00 to $90,000.00, with the pay rate type being salary. Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. As a claims investigator, you will delve into the origin and cause of claims by contacting various parties involved, including insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, and public personnel. You will be tasked with identifying complex issues and seeking assistance when necessary. Your role will involve handling both first-party and third-party claims across multiple policy types and numerous endorsements. You will respond to customer inquiries, make appropriate decisions, and close files as needed. Additionally, you will interpret and determine policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages, applying this knowledge to all parties involved in assigned losses. You will also be responsible for providing all parties with information regarding the claim process and status, answering questions, or redirecting inquiries to other areas as appropriate. This position requires specialized knowledge and skills, including a solid understanding of the claims handling process and the ability to provide customer-oriented solutions or support. You will need to obtain state-specific property casualty claims licensing as required, and be prepared for catastrophe duty, which may involve up to 75% of your time, although this will be non-travel and conducted from your desk.
