About the position

The Senior Catastrophe Claims Specialist at COUNTRY Financial is a critical role responsible for investigating and settling personal and commercial property claims in the aftermath of natural disasters. This position requires extensive travel and on-call availability, as the specialist will respond to deployment directives and work in the field to assess damages, negotiate settlements, and support clients during challenging times. The role combines fieldwork with office responsibilities, ensuring a comprehensive approach to claims management.

Responsibilities

• Respond to deployment directives and travel to catastrophe areas to evaluate, negotiate, and settle claims.
• Investigate and complete physical inspections of property claims, evaluate damages, and prepare written estimates according to policy provisions.
• Initiate first contact with insureds and relevant parties to gather information, obtain recorded statements, and explain the claims process.
• Assist with claims office workload when not deployed to CAT duty.

Requirements

• General knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Working knowledge of estimating systems such as Xactimate.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to drive an automobile.
• Physical dexterity to walk, reach, climb, and crawl to inspect damage in various conditions.
• Ability to lift, carry, and climb ladders weighing up to 80 pounds.
• Part 107 drone license required for roof inspections, to be obtained within 5 months of start date.
