About the position

Kontoor Brands is seeking a Category Analyst to join our team, focusing on Retail Market Insights. This role is pivotal in coordinating the category management process for major categories across our Lee and Wrangler brands. The Category Analyst will develop strategic alliances aimed at enhancing business results for both the retailer and Kontoor Brands by delivering consumer value. The position requires a strong emphasis on data analytics, utilizing fact-based insights to support key business decisions both internally at headquarters and externally with retail customers and sales teams to drive growth. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional storytelling skills with data, presenting results and recommendations with clarity and analytical rigor. This individual will continuously seek out, learn, and actively utilize new data sources, tools, technology, and methods to provide innovative analytics solutions. The primary responsibilities include coordinating the Category Management Retail Marketplace process for major categories, delivering current consumer insights, competitive insights, category data analysis, shelving, assortment, and merchandising recommendations to drive the category. The Category Analyst will build influential selling stories through PowerPoint presentations and dashboards by gathering and analyzing category and consumer behavior data from various internal and external sources. Additionally, the role involves designing and developing best-in-class monthly, quarterly, and annual Category, Channel, and Customer Business Reviews and scorecards. The analyst will also develop holistic omni-channel category strategies by leveraging insights and analytics from internal, industry, and retailer-specific sources, ensuring that all stakeholders understand the presentations and the analyses they are based on.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Category Management Retail Marketplace process for major categories such as Lee and Wrangler.
  • Deliver current consumer insights, competitive insights, category data analysis, shelving, assortment, and merchandising recommendations.
  • Build influential selling stories via PowerPoint and dashboards by gathering and analyzing category and consumer behavior data.
  • Design and develop best-in-class monthly, quarterly, and annual Category, Channel, and Customer Business Reviews and scorecards.
  • Develop holistic omni-channel category strategies leveraging insights and analytics from various sources.
  • Create Category Management presentations and ensure understanding among internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 0 - 2 years of experience in Consumer, Shopper Insights, and/or Category Management.
  • Familiarity with syndicated market data such as Circana, IRI, Nielsen, SPINs.
  • Prior retail experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Business, Data Analytics, or Computer Science.
  • Understanding of Kontoor and competitive brands and their market positioning.
