About the position

The Category Management Consultant role at Hershey is focused on driving sales growth and market share for the Salty Snacks category within the Grocery channel. This position involves collaborating with sales partners and retailers to develop strategic business plans, leveraging insights to identify opportunities, and executing initiatives that align with shopper and P&L strategies. The consultant will act as a category expert, utilizing data analysis and market trends to support sales efforts and enhance product offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Support Customer Sales Executives (CSEs) with the creation, negotiation, and execution of Joint Business Plans (JBP).
  • Build an insights-driven product portfolio that meets the unique needs of Grocery retailer shoppers and consumers.
  • Partner with Shopper Insights to create and leverage the Shopper Insights learning plan with retailers.
  • Forecast retail takeaway to support supply chain efficiency, reduce waste, and communicate category opportunities and risks to CSEs and customers.
  • Act as a project lead to identify category/business opportunities, build a selling story for alignment, create an action plan, and drive execution with retailers and the HSY Sales team.
  • Build new tools and capabilities to analyze and grow the Salty Grocery business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 3-5 years of previous Category Management and/or CPG Sales experience
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Advanced understanding of consumer/shopper behavior and market research strategies
  • Knowledge of consumer sales industry trends
