About the position

The position is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing sourcing strategies for specific categories within large construction projects. The role focuses on optimizing costs, quality, and delivery while improving supply chain efficiencies and maintaining strong supplier relationships. The individual will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure effective procurement processes and achieve material cost reductions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy for assigned categories by engaging with internal stakeholders to capture requirements.
  • Assess potential opportunities for categories including spend segmentation and supply market analysis.
  • Develop sourcing strategy detailing projects, sourcing levers, timing, resources, and expected benefits.
  • Support annual category reviews with updated projects, metrics, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain relationships with key suppliers at the leadership level and build new supplier relationships.
  • Negotiate national and project-specific agreements including pricing and service levels.
  • Conduct supplier business reviews and monitor supplier quality and delivery performance.
  • Initiate and conduct supplier contract negotiations to achieve material cost reductions.
  • Monitor market drivers affecting categories including raw material pricing and availability.
  • Lead team members by example, offering coaching and feedback.

Requirements

  • Experience negotiating contracts and buying high voltage critical equipment from manufacturers.
  • Experience influencing early phases of design to expedite procurement processes.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and negotiation skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organization, planning, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to influence without authority and active listening skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field.
  • Minimum five years' experience managing High Voltage Critical Equipment spend.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and materials.
