About the position
The role involves leading the development and execution of capital equipment, installation, and construction procurement strategies within Hershey. The position requires collaboration with various departments to enhance business capabilities, optimize sourcing processes, and manage supplier relationships effectively. The individual will also lead a team of sourcing specialists and drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing events and negotiations.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop sourcing opportunities and specific sourcing plans to support business needs.
- Collaborate with business owners to gain visibility into spend and identify areas for sourcing value.
- Utilize spend analytics to identify sourcing and savings opportunities in assigned categories.
- Lead sourcing execution, overseeing the team's leadership of sourcing events and negotiations to achieve cost savings.
- Influence business owners to execute the sourcing strategy and comply with procurement policies.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure service levels and contractual obligations are met.
Requirements
- Strong experience with strategy, analytics, and project management.
- Capital sourcing experience preferred, with a strong preference for indirect sourcing category experience.
- Experience evaluating supplier bids and conducting contract negotiations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of procurement and supply chain management principles.
- Ability to collaborate and influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness and ability to learn in a challenging and changing environment.
