About the position

The Category Manager is a key member of the Product Development team, responsible for managing the beds category from ideation through commercialization. This role involves strategic planning, business management, and P&L responsibility, ensuring that products are developed based on consumer insights and market demand. The Category Manager collaborates with various teams, including design, sales, and operations, to ensure successful product launches and campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the assigned category and oversee all stage gates from ideation through commercialization.
  • Create and maintain line plans for brand and product categories.
  • Monitor SKU rationalization and identify new development areas.
  • Conduct market research to ensure competitive pricing and product offerings.
  • Review sales data and KPIs to assess product performance and suggest improvements.
  • Collaborate with the design team to support new product designs and ensure timely execution.
  • Communicate with factories regarding product pricing, packaging, and production timelines.
  • Assist the sales team during line reviews and customer meetings, providing necessary product information and samples.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of product packaging and marketing materials.
  • Participate in meetings with senior management to review product development progress.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of previous category management experience, preferably in consumer products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, or Marketing preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Illustrator is a plus.
  • Experience with PLM systems and project management tools like Asana, Trello, and Zi-Flow is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present to groups.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with cut and sew fabrics is required.
