About the position

The Strategic Sourcing Category Manager is a key role responsible for developing and executing sourcing initiatives for medical devices and supplies within the Medical University Hospital Authority. This position manages a significant budget of $50M in aggregate spend and collaborates with various stakeholders to enhance supply chain strategies while ensuring quality care. The role involves co-leading a value analysis team, conducting product research, and implementing cost-reduction strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing initiatives for medical devices and supplies.
  • Assist in managing $50M in aggregate spend.
  • Assess opportunities and formulate sourcing strategies.
  • Co-lead a system-wide value analysis team.
  • Conduct product research and cost/reimbursement analysis.
  • Develop presentations in support of the value analysis process.
  • Implement strategies to reduce supply expenses without compromising quality of care.
  • Monitor and improve product utilization within assigned categories.
  • Collaborate with physicians to identify and implement improvements and standardization.
  • Manage sourcing initiatives including scoping analysis, RFP development, and proposal evaluations.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage ongoing supplier relationships.
  • Monitor compliance for system-wide contracts and identify improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and seven years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and four years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience includes clinical practice and post-graduate fellowship.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a demanding work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaborative partnerships in a team environment.
  • Experience managing or coordinating projects, including meeting support and documentation.
  • Experience analyzing data and developing meaningful information to support decision making.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of CB Insights, Sales Force, SharePoint, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, and project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet).
