About the position

We are looking for a dynamic, take-charge Catering and Event Operations Manager to lead and coordinate sales and event operations at venues such as Park Silly Market, Real Salt Lake games at America First Stadium, and other high-profile events. This is a leadership role that requires strong management skills, the ability to oversee event staff, and the capability to adapt to changing schedules, including nights and weekends. This position is perfect for someone with a flexible schedule, such as those who might have other part-time roles (like ski instructors or seasonal workers), since our peak season is summer, and things slow down during winter months. Key Responsibilities include leading the planning and execution of events such as Real Salt Lake games, Park Silly Market, the Days of '47 Rodeo, and more. You will ensure all equipment and inventory are set up and ready for each event. Additionally, you will recruit, schedule, and manage event staff, ensuring roles are clearly defined and tasks are completed efficiently. On-site leadership and support during events will also be part of your responsibilities. You will oversee private catering events such as weddings, corporate events, and parties, which includes setup, serving, breakdown, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Managing logistics for event materials, including loading/unloading trailers, transporting equipment, and maintaining inventory of ice cream products and supplies will be essential. As the face of Roonies at events, you will engage with customers in a fun, positive manner to enhance their experience and drive sales.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of events such as Real Salt Lake games and Park Silly Market.
  • Ensure all equipment and inventory are set up and ready for each event.
  • Recruit, schedule, and manage event staff, ensuring roles are clearly defined and tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Provide on-site leadership and support during events.
  • Oversee private catering events such as weddings, corporate events, and parties, including setup, serving, and breakdown.
  • Manage logistics for event materials, including loading/unloading trailers and transporting equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of ice cream products and supplies.
  • Engage with customers at events to enhance their experience and drive sales.

Requirements

  • Management or leadership experience in event coordination, catering, or food service.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks, such as pushing carts/freezers and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods during events.
  • Experience driving a truck and trailer.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task under pressure.
  • Outgoing, energetic personality with a take-charge attitude and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work well with a diverse team and hold staff accountable.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus, but not required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in ice cream or food service is a plus.
  • Previous event or catering management experience highly desirable.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is ideal for someone with another part-time job, especially those with seasonal flexibility.
