About the position

Biscuits and Berries, recognized as Denver's best caterer in 2020, is on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals to join our award-winning catering event team as Catering Event Captains and Event Managers. In this role, you will take charge of leading offsite catering events, which include weddings, corporate functions, and black-tie galas. Your responsibilities will encompass assisting service staff in executing the setup, food and drink service, and breakdown of events, all while maintaining positive, friendly, and efficient interactions with guests. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong work ethic and a passion for service and hospitality, coupled with a commitment to delivering the highest level of service to all guests. Responsibilities

  • Lead offsite catering events such as weddings, corporate functions, and black-tie galas.
  • Assist service staff in executing setup, food and drink service, and breakdown of events.
  • Interact with guests in a positive, friendly, and efficient manner.
  • Review event details and execution prior to onsite arrival.
  • Check out and load event equipment and décor.
  • Assign duties and milestones for onsite teams and ensure events are executed to specifications.
  • Engage in professional and enthusiastic interactions with clients, venues, vendors, planners, and guests.
  • Provide onsite training, coaching, and encouragement of staff before, during, and after events.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of experience as an Event Captain preferred.
  • 3 years of management experience preferred.
  • 2 years of catering or banquet experience required.
  • Valid driver's license required for operating company vehicles.
  • TIPS certification preferred.
  • Strong leadership experience is a must.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior catering, hotel, or banquet captain experience preferred.
  • Flexible schedule to work nights and weekends.
