About the position

The Catering General Manager at Fifth Wheel Catering is responsible for overseeing all aspects of planning and hosting events, ensuring exceptional client engagement and satisfaction. This role involves managing personnel, collaborating with culinary teams, and maintaining a strong focus on hospitality and organizational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain thorough knowledge of menus, facilities, venue specifications, vendors, and service model for Fifth Wheel Catering's two venues: Willow and Slate.
• Coordinate with managers of Baileys' Restaurants to facilitate private and semi-private dining experiences.
• Direct a team of hospitality professionals including Captains, Servers, Bartenders, and Porters; hire, train, and discipline assigned personnel.
• Execute events together with Coordinators, Captains, and event personnel.
• Collaborate with Baileys' culinary leadership to present inventive, seasonal, and appealing menu items.
• Organize festival participation for Baileys' Restaurants offsite events, such as Earth Day and Pride Fest.
• Employ technology to manage client and team communication, including TripleSeat, Toast POS, and ScheduleFly.
• Manage multiple events on overlapping timelines with strong correspondence and organization skills.

Requirements

• Four years of experience in leadership in fine dining restaurants or catering/banquet environments.
• Experience in client-facing sales is an asset.
• Strong organizational and correspondence skills are a must.
• Self-motivated worker with attention to detail; follows projects through to conclusion.
• Compliant with all required health department and safety certifications.
