About the position

The Catering Service Attendant Lead at Roger Williams University is responsible for overseeing food preparation and service at various catering events on campus. This role involves organizing event orders, managing service setups, and ensuring cleanliness and compliance with health standards. The position requires strong leadership, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Organize catering event order sheets and pull lists for setup and service.
• Ensure food is prepared and served according to scheduled functions under the supervision of the Catering Manager.
• Maintain organization of catering storage areas and ensure cleanliness of work areas.
• Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills and manage time efficiently to ensure excellent customer service.
• Interact professionally with customers, resolving complaints and ensuring satisfaction.
• Assemble and deliver food and supplies for catered functions to scheduled locations.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils within the work area.
• Set up buffet tables and service items according to established standards.
• Break down events by cleaning and packing unused food dishes and equipment for safe removal.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in food service with a focus on front of house customer service (catering experience preferred).
• Ability to interact with a diverse and high-volume customer base in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and problem-solve effectively.
• Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
• Basic computer skills, with the ability to navigate catering software.
